GEN 1
The GEN 1 Model S Tesla, also known as the “Nose Cone” styling, is named after the nose coned shape design. In general, if you own this Nose Cone styled Tesla, and you want a PIATO Plate for the front of your car, you WILL need to purchase a PIATO Holder. A PIATO Holder is required for the back of a all GEN 1 Teslas.
GEN 2
In general, if you own a GEN 2 Tesla, and you desire a PIATO Plate for the front of your vehicle, you will NOT need a PIATO Holder. However, you’ll need to be prepared to remove any/all adhesive that may remain after removing your factory license plate bracket, if applicable. A PIATO Holder is required for the back of all GEN 2 Teslas.

- FIT & FINISH: We strongly recommend the PIATO Plate be professionally installed to achieve the look you see throughout our site. Any competent, reputable window tinting or PPF (Paint Protection Film) installation company can apply your PIATO Plate with precision and efficiency.
- PLACEMENT: Please note that when your PIATO Plate and/or PIATO Holder are installed on your vehicle, be certain to follow the Vehicle Manufacturer’s recommendation for the placement of the license plate to avoid obstruction of vehicle’s sensors.
